Budget around €70 to €120 per day per person in Porto (accommodation, food and sightseeing), excluding flights. Good news: Porto is still one of Europe’s best-value destinations.

Local market in Porto

How much should you set aside for a stay in Porto? It’s one of the first questions we get, and the answer will please you: you can have a wonderful trip here without breaking the bank. Let’s break it down, category by category.

Accommodation

From €25-40 a night in a hostel to €80-150 for a charming hotel right in the centre, there’s something for every budget. Our favourite neighbourhoods for value? Around the Ribeira and Cedofeita.

Food

You’ll eat well without overspending: €8 to €15 in a neighbourhood tasca, €20 to €35 for dinner at a restaurant. Our tip: go for the “prato do dia” (dish of the day), hearty and cheap.

Getting around

The centre is walkable, and that’s a good thing! Otherwise, count €1.20 for a metro ticket and around €7 for the Andante day pass. From the airport, the metro drops you downtown in 30 minutes.

Sightseeing and activities

A concrete example for 3 days

For a 3-day weekend in a mid-range hotel, budget around €300 to €400 per person, flights not included. And with a well-planned programme, we trim that budget further thanks to the rates we negotiate with our local partners.

Want a trip that fits you, and your budget, down to the last euro? That’s our job.
